As many as possible of the Relief Society leaders from across the mission flew, trained, and bussed to Vladivostok for a 2-day teaching and learning conference. Subjects taught included everything from appropriate music; how to teach a Sunday Relief Society lesson; the purpose of visiting teaching, plus how-to ideas; to quilt-tying, jewelry-making, and more. Three visitors stayed with us in our apartment, and that meant lots of very interesting late-night conversation. the mission president's wife donated her personal decorations and tableware to make the occasion extra special when borscht, bread, and brownies were served for lunch.
